I've been devouring your book.  You have great "voice." I adore this material - I would have paid $500 for it if you had asked.  It's tremendously comprehensive and I'm astonished at how thorough of a treatment it is.   -Ryan Zielonka, Sammamish, WA

Let me first say that the book is excellent.  I'm definitely research-oriented, so I appreciate you approaching subjects from that perspective (a rare trait, unfortunately).  The nutrition sections are real gems, with each chapter alone worth the price of the entire book.   -Benjamin Burack, Chicago, IL

I'm 150 pages in, at the moment. Really great stuff, and highly recommended. Decreased the amount of stupid questions I ask by a factor of 10. The feeling of knowing what you're eating, why, and how it's affecting you, is well worth the $40 - rather than spending hours and hours and hours piecemeal trying to go thorugh nutrition reports that I couldn't understand in the first place, the book takes just about every question that bodybuilders have about nutrition, answers them, and disproves the myths. Go with it it, people.  -Dennis Mickley, St. Louis, MO

Got your book a few days ago. I've really only got one thing to say: has anyone ever told you that you kick ass? I mean, seriously. It was a great read, and I especially enjoyed the bits about the paleo diet and the chapter on nutritional timing.  Andrew Prieditis, Germantown, MD

Alan, I have received my book and find every word useful. I can't seem to get far enough into it without wanting to jump ahead and see what's next. Thanks for the speedy shipping and the great info!  -Joshua Ross Smith, Marietta, GA

I've been enjoying your text quite a bit. Perhaps what impresses me the most is your attention to methodology and epistemology. This serves to make your scientific approach read all the more concretely. I seldom see such an approach taken by physical scientists, let alone one concerned with the optimal nutrition for an athlete. Frankly, it's been refreshing, knowing how you've arrived at your answers while providing a solid basis of information for further research. While I study social science myself, I find I'm often irritated at a lot of what gets passed around as truth around these parts. In some cases, even by the scientists themselves. I won't name names but I often pick-up on a wee bit more marketing and company "philosophy" than I'd like to. I'll be recommending your text to anyone who ever asks me about where to obtain both readable and efficacious information on how to diet.  -Greg Chin, Ontario, Canada

I'm just writing to say thanks for writing the book. I've read around 90% of it, and learned piles of information. I now recover quicker and train harder with more ease and less physical stress. Also, your reply (attaching the Ca and protein balance article)... brilliant. That sold me on the book. Oh, and the book has enhanced my understanding and retention of the biochem material I learned for class. I've shown the book to some other people in my class, all were quite impressed; a few expressed interest in buying the book. Thanks again.  -Etan Eitches, New York, NY
